My name is Natalie Oganesyan (she/her), and I'm an entertainment journalist based in Los Angeles.
Most recently, I served as a TV reporter at TheWrap. In my role, I reported on a wide range of beats, including ratings, earnings, breaking news, exclusives and business developments, and conducted both short- and longform interviews. I'm currently freelancing. In 2021, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a journalism B.A. and a minor in human rights, and worked as a celebrity news writer at BuzzFeed. Prior to that, I finished a 6-month internship at Variety and served as the editor-in-chief of the Daily Trojan, USC's student-run newspaper, overseeing the content production and management of the entire paper, with an emphasis on arts & entertainment, news and features editorial sections. I also formerly wrote a biweekly column about cannabis culture and politics called "To Be Blunt," as well as a biweekly newsletter called "the garden" that you can subscribe to here! A little about me outside of the professional sphere: I'll watch TV for hours on end (current obsession is Beef, which I wrote about here) and am trying to get back into casual reading! I'm particularly fond of creative writing and self-published a book of poems in 2018. I can speak four languages (Russian, Armenian, English and Spanish) and love to travel when possible (Italy is next on the list!). I'm an avid baker and have recently gotten into tarot reading for personal growth and guidance. I'm all about art, TV, film and culture — with a focus on representation & diversity — which is why I love writing human interest stories, profiles and reviews. But I'm also intrigued by trying and writing about new things, so feel free to reach out! |
